Default Can I send texts from my storm via email?

May sound a strange question but i'm going abroad soon and it would be a lot cheaper to send texts via my data package than the international charge for text messages.
Is there a way to do this, it would be great if there were.

Yes it is possible. You need to know the appropriate gateway. Here is a list of the most common US carriers.

Yes, you would email the recipient phone number @ the carrier domain.

Such as your would send an email to: [email address] for a Tmobile subscriber. You will need to know the recipients carrier and the carrier domain. A list is here:
