Hey guys. I am a new storm user and loving the blackberryforums. I live in the UK and have just got myself a 35 600mins unltd texts and unltd internet usage.

I was just wondering, obviously my internet is free. But are there any applications or services that can charge me without informing me? Is it possible to view wap and get charged that way?

Another thing is preventing my e-mail from updating all day. I'm not a big e-mail user at the moment. But I'd like to make it that it only updates new e-mails when I ask it too, and not throughout the whole day. Is there any way to prevent this? How do I prevent it from being connected to the net 24/7? I don't use it constantly and it would help to reduce the battery usage.

Also I would like to keep my battery usage to a minimal and was wondering if anyone has any tips?

Thanks in advance.

Your email will push as it is grabbed by the RIM servers--you do not have control over that timing. On a personal BIS account that is routinely about every 15 mins (gmail, yahoo and other IMAP accounts push instantly). That's just the way it works, and you can't change that frequency.

Make certain you have THE BlackBerry Data Plan from your carrier, not a generic "data plan".
