Never felt so lost as I did today....

My Storm was acting funny when I got up today so I went to do a battery pull only to have one of the pins from the battery spring out and hit me in my face..


Then I go to the "V" store by my work and tell the guy that my storm broke and will not work cause of the battery pin falling out. Since there is only one "+" pin, it won't turn on or hold a charge... He then tells me if my battery is dead and the phone won't turn on, you need to charge it...

I just gave him the "you're a @#$% look" picked up my phone and left. Where do they get some of these people & why don't they listen to what the customer says?

Then to make matters worse, I get off of work at 7pm and drive to the "V" store by my house (which is 55 minutes from work) only to find out that the closed at 8pm... What the heck everything else around it is open till 9pm, why would they close at 8pm...

So I get home and try to rig the thing and put the pin back in, but no luck.

Ahhh so frustrating..... so lost without my storm

I just hope they don't try to call it physical damage and try to void your warranty...

I sure hope not... heck I've only had the phone for like 40 days... Not like I got some tweezers and purposely pulled it out... but yeah you're right, I'm sure they will try to pull some b.s..

Just tell them the truth, you pulled the battery out and it almost popped your eye out when the pin flew out :-D

I am a little worried since the OS on the phone is .113... but I can't turn it on to downgrade.. So I guess if I can't get it on, then they won't be able to find out...

Yes, and they most probably will not check regardless.

Don't worry about the os. I had .113 installed when my screen cracked and touchscreen stopped working. I had my phone for around 60 days at that point. I couldn't wipe might either. I called verizon up told then about my phone and they overnighted me a returb that actually works better than my original ;). Call them up. You should have better luck then talking to the bozos at the stores.

Well I went to the store by my house this morning, showed them the pieces and told them what happened... They all had to check it out cause they had never seen that happen before...Then they looked at the battery and there were little indention's on the battery where the prongs hit. So they came to the conclusion that it was a flaw in the phone cause the prongs didn't push in correctly. Then they noticed I got the phone on 3/11 and it was past the 30 days, but they were cool about it! They ended up giving me a brand new storm

According to them they usually don't do that in store, but since there has been numerous problems, they said they would do it this one time for me. The tech guy said he was going to contact his BB rep and tell them about the phone cause they had never seen that happen before. Who knows my phone could be a first for that particular flaw...LOL

Now it's onto trying to get this phone back to where my old one was... So much downloading and transferring to do... Hmmm deciding which OS to go with now... .113 worked pretty good for me, but I'm anxious to go higher...LOL

I had memory leaks And battery drainage on .132 but ymmv ;)

I ended up loading .113 onto my new phone... I liked it and really didn't have to many problems with it on my old phone...

Gotta say I am loving this new Storm... my original one didn't click very well in the bottom 2 corners, but this one clicks great and for some reason I can type a lot better on the new one. Not sure why, maybe just all around better clickability... Is that a word, LOL

either way I am happy to have a Storm again
