I can't see phone calls more than a month old in the 'Call Log'.
Are calls archived somewhere?
Is there a program to access them? If not it seems the only alternative is to go back to old phone bills, right?
Go into your messages folder and press Alt + P and it should bring up your phone logs.

Sounds like nobody cares but I thought I'd close out the thread with my resolution...
1. I learned that the ipd files contain the phone log database (amongst all the all the other backed up data)
2. There are a number of apps that read and write ipd files nicely.
For $20.00 I have control over my data. RIM should have provided this utility.
