Ok so i have had such a hard time with this and im sure im not the only one... i am going to write up a little tutorial for you guys so here it is:

This is to get the .141/5.0.0.90 hybrid working on a Storm 9530.

LINKS

YOU WILL HAVE TO COPY AND PASTE THESE CAUSE I CANT SUBMIT LINKS YET

THIS IS FOR THE MAIN THREAD
forums.crackberry.com/f132/9530-141-5-0-0-90-9000-hybrid-beta-204517/

THIS IS THE .141/5.0 HYBRID INSTALLER FOR 32 BIT SYSTEMS

theiexplorers.com/bb/5.0Hybrid.exe

THIS IS THE .141/5.0 HYBRID INSTALLER FOR 64 BIT SYSTEMS

theiexplorers.com/bb/5.0Hybrid(x64).exe

THIS IS THE LINK TO GET THE .132 OS---> MAKE SURE ITS .132 NOT .141

forums.crackberry.com/f132/leaked-os-4-7-0-132-storm-9530-a-212788/

NOTE: You do NOT need the .141 leaked OS, it is in the installer.
(there are also other files there that you can look at, but these are the necessary ones to get it working.)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Tips:

Make sure you do not have any other storm OS's installed on your computer. This creates the least amount of errors.

Download your specific Installer and the .132 leaked OS before you start

Dont have too many things running in the background
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

if people use the my installer over 132, they will have the full 141/5.0 (141 radio)
if they do the Java files only over .132, they will have 141/5.0 with .132 radio

Step 1. Install the .132 leaked OS on your computer.
Step 2. Go to your Hybrid installer that you downloaded and run and click install
Step 3. Shrink A OS should have popped up
Step 4. At the top, where it says Select your OS Install Folder:, make sure you choose your .132 folder (it is located C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9530-v4.7.0.132_P4.0.0.162)
Step 5. Go through what you want and what you dont want in the check boxes and shrink it!
Step 6. When you are done with that, hit Launch Loader.exe next to the shrink button
Step 7. Go through the steps and make sure to backup. (you will go through a few steps)
Step 8. You are at the upgrading screen... it will take about 20 minutes... the device initialization takes the longest so be patient
Step 9. Ok, its rebooting... now on your blackberry, go to ->options -> About -> Third line should read v4.7.0.141. Platform 174 (if it doesnt, recheck your work and start over)

i like how over here @ bbf hybridizing isn't mentioned much....doing hybrids & hacked OS's are better suited to places like cb and bbos....

more often than not, hybrid/hacked os's cause the majority of ppl issues more abundant and severe than just a typical os package from rim....

well.. the person who created the hybrid, just fixed a few issues... like the locking and some other stuff... its also optimized to run a little better...

it just makes .141 run a little better IMHO, but .132 is the best leaked OS release for not having a hybrid

The last two most stable OS's are .103 and .132.

Hybrids aren't my thing. Ill wait for the next official leaked beta OS. All the cracking and tweaking is too much for me.

I'd rather wait for the full 5.0....now THAT would be something!

yea.. it seems like everyone is using the .132 over the 141/5.0 hybrid.
