Please Login to Remove!

I'm looking for an application (or the best application) to view my Microsoft Access database on my Blackberry Storm. Any recommendations on what is best to use?

I work for a non-profit org and we have basic data for our clients. Well actually we track allot, but Ixxx8217;m not sure what I can do with my new Blackberry??

Thanks in advance for any help!

Unfortunately, the Storm is not a PC, and as such, it does not have full computer capability. Access DB's (or any DB for that matter) are resource intensive, and a mobile phone like the Storm or the HTC Touch Pro cannot handle it.

The guy that sold it to me at Verizon said there was many apps to view data. I don't need to edit any of the data, just view it. Hard to believe he lied to me to sell a cell phone!

You can view lots of things, but not Access DBs.

I also don't find it hard to believe that a salesperson lied to sell you a mobile phone. This is par for the course. Albeit, they probably didn't know whether it could or not, but in the mobile phone sales realm, if the person doesn't know, the default answer is "Yes".

Default BlackBerry Database Viewer Plus 3.1

Wrong. There is an app that's free to try, 34.95 to buy. Apparently I can't post links yet, so you'll have to Google it yourself.

BlackBerry Database Viewer Plus 3.1

"This application allows you to view and synchronize MS Access, Excel, any database.

BlackBerry Database Viewer Plus lets you view and sync Microsoft Access, Excel, Foxpro, Oracle, SQL Server or any ODBC enabled database on BlackBerry. Update data on BlackBerry. Make a phone call from transferred database.

View and update Microsoft Access, Excel, Oracle, FoxPro, dBase, or any ODBC compliant database on the BlackBerry. Add, modify, and delete data on BlackBerry. Make a phone call from your transferred database directly.

To keep your desktop and BlackBerry database synchronized, you can transfer desktop data to BlackBerry handheld using USB cable. It does not require any other syncing hardware or software.

Here are some key features of "BlackBerry Database Viewer Plus":

Supported Databases: MS Access, MS Excel, Oracle, SQL Server, FoxPro, dBase, and Any ODBC Compliant Database.
View and sync any database with BlackBerry.
Modify database contents on BlackBerry and reflect them to database.
Make a phone call for the selected field's numeric contents, which will be treated as a phone number.
Apply Filters, Sort the fields.
Apply any SQL Select queries on database to purify records.
Export database records to text files with or with out field names.
View database tables: all at the same time or one record at a time.
Find and Find again option to search a record.
Perform Cut/Copy/Paste Edit operations in Grid View using the shortcut keys.
Easy navigation through database in both Record and Grid view using shortcut keys.

Requirements:

On BlackBerry device: BlackBerry OS 3.8 or higher
On PC: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.0"

And from someone who works in the industry, let me just say be careful with your assumptions and jumping to conclusions. There are a lot of us out there who work hard to help people discover new technology and do it honestly, and are quite frankly tired of being treated as if we're by definition dishonest or manipulative because our business cards have the world 'Sales' on them.

Do some research before being hateful. The Google search that turned up this app took me all of 7 seconds to run.
