Angry Why does this thing keep freezing up and bogging down?

All the time. I have the 8gig card.. dont have much on it at all. Some typical apps such as myspace twitter aim pandora quick pull 2.0 and google latitude. For some reason this phone is just SLOW. Even when trying to load my own pictures a loading bar comes up and takes a few seconds. Yesterday I got a phone call and I went to hit answer and the phone just locked up. Sometimes the little clock icon or busy icon will stay on the screen for 3-4 minutes at a time. I have to do numerous battery pulls throughout the day cause of this.

What is your file free (Options > Status)?

Press Alt+Escape (back key) and list what all shows there.

The alt key is the key directly under the A key.

Press Alt + Back from the home screen.

Yea its not doing anything? Alt + Return/Back key? I've tried pressing the key and the back key and hovering it and pressing the back key and holding both at the same time. it just keeps cycling between numbers and letters.

Press the menu key and select switch application, then list what shows there.

rosie684,

what OS are you currently running?

Additionally, if you are running all those apps at the same time, you should expect some lag.

I suggest you do a fresh install with a beta OS such as .132 and I am willing to bet your problems will cease.

I would say that Google Maps is the cuprit.

You should always have Messages, Homescreen, BBM, BB Browser, and Call Log showing.

Make sure your Browser isn't on an active page.

When not using an application, press the menu key and select Close/Exit to make sure to exit out of it. Running a lot of apps in the background will cause lag.

Ahh wow i never realized that if you dont actually close out of it that it will stay open. I just went through each one and closed them.

Now i just have ApplicationCenter BBM HomeScreen Messages Phone and Browser

What is this .132? how do i know what i have and what does that do/where do i get it?

I have 4.7.0.75

It's v4.7.0.132,

you find a copy here or on Crackberry and update your OS with the Device Manager Software.

There is a helpful guide for the installation process at the top of the 9500 forum.

If you update your OS you will notice a substantial difference in the Storm's stability and overall operation.
