Default Help Please!!!!!

I have tried to dl the .172 OS and i dont know what happened! My screen is white and it didnt even dl anything it said the desktop manager didnt have the right thingy???? Some error message! I was running 4.7.75 i think. How do I fix this? I printed out the instructions and did them 3 times and nothing!

P.S. and after the download to the computer the apploader thingy said .52
my phone is now back on with the same old OS.
