I've been attempting to setup my personal email on my Unlocked Storm 9530 and keeps giving me error messages when I attempted to download the service books.

This is the website I went too.
https ://bis.na.blackberry.com/html/ ( I tried to use the link on one of the HOW TO threads but it only loaded a page cannot be displayed error. But I found that link at the bottom of the page.

Anyway, it gives me Error:This Blackberry device is registered with a different carrier. Please register this device and verifiy that Url of the current website matches the one provided by your carrier.

It advises me to:
Go To Advance Options > Host Routing Table

Menu>Register Now

After doing that my Blackberry says message sent but nothing else happens. I try to relog back into Service Books page and gives me same error.

Any idea?

Shall I assume that it says edge, not EDGE in the top corner of the phone?

The phone has not registered for data use on AT&T yet. What OS is on the phone? Alot of the newer builds have serious EDGE issues. You need an OS with a lower radio file (.90 is the best for EDGE)

There are some hybrid OS out there, and a program called swap-a-radio which will allow you to change the radio file in any Storm os to .90

Once you have a EDGE connection you will be able to register and send service books and set up email. Until then, it won't work.

Yes it does say edge and not EDGE. SO I need to update my OS> Thank you! Now my email service books do I need to go to AT&T's BIS page or Verizon? At&T's page says my phone belongs to another provider and provideds me the same message its been giving me before but I tried to go to Verizon's page and create new account using my Pin# & IMEI# and it started to let me create an account but I cancelled the process b/c wasnt sure if It would mess anything up.

So my question is once I update my OS to get the radio file to .90 will I need to go under Options-Advance Options-Host Routing Table-Register Now and it will auto download the service books or will I still need to go to the Website and register?

you will still have to get the phone unregistered with whatever provider it was previously on in order to get your email service books pushed to it. IF you successfull at that then you will need to go to (for AT&T) ATT(dot)blackberry(dot)com and setup your imei and pin # with the site.

This is a common problem when you purchase a used blackberry or you switch carriers.
