Default AT&T Sim inserted but verizon service still on! Help.

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I bought this brand new unlocked 9350 from ebay and it still had the verizon SIM in it (from the previous owner's service I'm guessing). Switched it on and it showed no service and displayed an SOS only signal. I assumed that this was because the previous owner had disconnected his service. I upgraded to the latest OS and thought I'll load the AT&T service books next so I inserted my AT&T SIM into the phone. Now, after boot up, the phone displays a 1XEV signal. The native phone number displayed when I make calls is the previous owner's verizon number and the caller ID on the receiving phone displays the previous number as well. I am able to access the web as well, etc. I'm confused..AT&T SIM but making calls on Verizon number? How do I get the phone to use my service?
Thanks for your help in advance.

I tried to follow the steps for the Service books, but I'm unable to remove the net_rim_bb_browser_dameon module from my phone. It does not give me any option other than visual voice mail to load or delete.

Then you're doing something wrong. The process works.

go to phone screen and typ ##000000. You change the number in there.

as far as sos. Go to Manage connections. Mobile Network Options. Change global to GSM. Then change to only 2G.

Hope that helps.

edit. If you need to remove the net browser, find a program called crackutil. When you find it you will also find instructions how to use it. Or you could just remove the file from its folder. Programs (or programs86) commin files, RIM, shared, "your OS" and java. Make sure you copy to somewhere you will remember. then put it back once you load all the service books. PM me if you need help.
