Default Trouble with TCP/APN

I have an unlocked storm for T-mobile
Today my Tcp/Apn disappeared and was left unable to make any out going phone calls , texts, or even receive any calls. The coverage indicator changed from EDGE to 1xEV
When I finally remembered the TCP/APN, after I would enter it and hit SAVE , nothing would happen . Finally after a couple of times I removed the battery and checked the TCP and it WAS there .. Is this something I will have to be constantly doing or is there something wrong here?

I am also having problems with my "videos" , I am able to record, but to view I get a error message..."the media being played is of an unsupported format" Don't know if related but I was wondering if anyone could help ..
