Default won't lock in holster (.141)

Please Login to Remove!

running .141 ... the blackberry (9500) is set to lock once it's been holster, however, it just goes into sleep mode (or whatever), pull it out and it's unlocked.

if i lock it (from the top button) and then put it in and pull it out of the holster, the phone unlocks.

not sure if it's a firmware issue or if it was cause i dropped it ... :/

First thing: Did you try a hard reset (remove the battery for about 30 seconds)?

This has been discussed. Your Storm locks when in holster, but it immediately unlocks when you pull it out. Here is how you can solve this issue, just follow the steps: How to Fix Lock Issue On .141

Oh, my bad. This will not keep it locked when pulling it out. This will keep your Storm locked when you press those 4 buttons. I haven't tried it yet, so I don't know if it keeps your Storm locked when you withdraw it.

Correct, and it does not keep the phone locked when removed from holster as I have done the phone lock fix. I have resurrected a post asking exactly the same question. On .78 it used to stay locked when removed from the holster, with .141 it does not. I personally do not like it unlocking when removed so would like to see an alternative to this behaviour.

Wirelessly posted (8820)

I'm behind on my blackberry studies. I don't understand. Your Storm is password locked not some sort of "keyboard" lock. And the password lock is unlocked when you take the Storm out of the holster?

I don't believe they use a password lock, but just a keyboard lock.

That's true. If you use a password lock, then it will remain locked when you pull it out. I've said it before, I don't mind if unlocks when out of the holster. When you withdraw the phone, this means that you will call/text/email or just do something with it. If you pull it out just to check the clock, then you select the option to lock when in holster, and that's it.

From a personal point of view I prefered how it operated with .78 and the phone stayed keylocked when removed from the holster (not password protected, just locked via the button on top left). With .141 the phone auto unlocks as it is removed.

I am hoping there is a way to revert to keeping it locked as it is removed - not a big issue at all, just a preference.
