where is the music database file?
Still running on .75. Have several hundred tracks that don't show up in media player. They are organized by subfolders - artist, album, track. Would like to delete the database file so it rebuilds itself. Deleted thumbs files from the music folders that had them. Some were reconstructed, some not.

The song list varies - sometimes songs show up, sometimes they don't. None are protected. Have tried using media manager to transfer as well as drag and drop. Both with inconsistent results. Sometimes songs show up, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they show up later, sometimes they disappear later.

Have pulled battery and card. Am looking for the top level file, so I can force a re-scan.

Thank you in advance.

I'm somewhat confused catajane. Isn't your music stored on a media card?

The music files are on my media card. When I look at them in windows explorer, I see them all. The problem is that the Storm's media player does NOT.

My goal is to force a re-build of the database file (the one that keeps track of the songs), if there is indeed one.

Or, discover another way to force the Storm to rescan the muisc folder to pick up the lost songs. They are mp3's and wma's. And every time I reboot the phone, it rescans the music files and comes up with a different set of tracks than before. It's a surprise, as to what I will be able to listen to.

Some music I transferred by the media manager software, and others I just copied, finding it easier. There is no pattern. Some show up and some do not.

As long as the wma files are inside the music folder then you shouldn't have a problem. That's exactly how I do mine and has no problems at all. What you could do though is transfer an album via the explorer for optimal playback and see if that works...

I copied my entire iTunes library (many protected) to the media card. At times through the BB music interface I can see all the albums and all the songs. Other times I can only see 3 or 4 of the songs of each album top down. I bought a new album and copied it over to the media card and the entire album can be seen. I checked again a few days later and the first 3 songs and the last three are visible. When using windows explorer to view the media card I can't find but about 5% of the songs. They just aren't there visibly. I am very confused. Using 9530 w/1.22 build. Moved all the music with windows explorer. Any help would be great.
