Default Storm freezes with Opera...

Please Login to Remove!

Sometimes if I click on the browser, and then click google to do a google search and as soon as I press on search, instead of that annoying pop up of whether I want to connect or not (which by the way I've also wanted to get rid of for a while)...it freezes and I have to turn of the phone and turn it bank on...and then that pop up comes up and I can return to what I wanted to do. Any help...and yes I have done a reset.

If you can enable the firewall on your device, you'll get the question one more time, then you won't see it again.

Where do you go to do that? And isn't that a little dangerous since others can hack into your blackberry or whatever...?

Options, Security Options, Firewall. Enabling the firewall should not be any more dangerous than disabling it. ;)

I don't believe there are any BlackBerry hackers around at the moment or we would be reading about them here.

Answer Yes--it only asks once when the firewall is enabled.

I'm not sure if your getting. Everytime I start up opera mini it asked for the low level connection thing. And yes I press "yes" on it once but I would like for it not to ask...ever....lol...like a regular browser...

I understand. On my device Opera Mini will ask for permission once when you first attempt to go to a Web site. It will do it again after you exit Opera Mini and start it again. This is the normal behavior with the firewall disabled.

When I enable the firewall on my device, Opera Mini asks once for permission on the first attempt to access the Web. After that I can exit and restart Opera Mini without seeing the question any more. This is typical behavior for 4.5 devices. Maybe OS 4.7 treats it differently.

I've had the same experience on my Storm. Very frustrating. I've had the battery out of the phone more times than I care to remember. Maybe the new OS will help.

I don't know, but I've asked this question in the past and nobody has been able to find the right solution. And I thought this guy had a storm, he gave me advice for a pearl. Lol. Thanks though.

I gave you what works for many BlackBerry devices, not just Pearls. Apparently something changed with the firewall in OS 4.7. You should try looking in the Opera Mini support forums. There might be more information there.
