Default BIS/Webmail Wireless Reconcile on Storm - cant disable

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

firstly thanks to everyone who reguarly posts usefull stuff that I use, I normally just troll but thanks to all those who post free software lists/how to guides etc - much appreicated.

so the issue i have - i have 5 email accounts coming through on my storm. One of them, is my main work account (not allowed a foreign device on our BES at work so i pull the emails from our webmail server using BIS).

however when im in the office during the day, i dont want the work emails coming through. so i go into options and set 'wireless reconcile' to disabled, however the emails still keep coming? no matter what i do, disabling the wireless reconciliation seems to have no effect, the only way i can stop the emails is to delete the account and re-add it when i need it again, which is becoming really irritating.

can anyone help here?

Cheers

i guess this is just ANOTHER reason to add to the dumbfoundingly long list of why this is the worst smartphone ever created (definiately using the term smart *VERY* loosely)

Or another reason to look up what "reconcile" does.

You can disable it at your online BIS account. Go to "filters" and see
"Do not forward messages to device" option.

It's PUSH email.

Hey deano_185, in your profile it's written 8100 as your model. Coming back to Storm. On the menu find "setup". From "setup" choose email settings and login into your BIS account as you are logging from your carrier's web page. For every email account you can set filter. In your case you should set a filter for your bussiness email account as "Do not forward messages to device".

Do you still thing Storm is the worst smatphone?

That is not setting a "filter" in the context. That is disabling the forwarding (which is correct).

The clue is that the setting is under "When no filters apply". See my reply previous to yours.

/fail at life

thanks gents, im sorted.

for the record i did search for this topic before posting, probably doesn't help me now. i dont think its the worst smartphone ever, i in fact love my storm, but there are just too many things that have been overlooked, and too many little things that just make the phone irritating. the fact i had to go and spend 50 bucks on third party apps, just to make it function like I and plenty of others believe it should as standard, is dissapointing (simulteanous vibe/ring, screen lock on calls, accelerometer disable function to name a short few)

the fact my screen barely clicks and there's little i can do about it also brings the phone down a whole lot (i've tried the business card, didnt' help. im now using a sim card under the battery as per someones post on here the other week, it helped, but its not even close to my mate who bought a storm at the same time as me, from the same store, and has a perfect clicking screen from top to bottom whereas mine, you can barely click the screen to answer a call.

thanks for helping me even though i was hating on the storm, appreciate it.
