Unhappy Storm SIM problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am new to the BlackBerry community: just bought my Storm last week. And I must say, I love it except for one little problem: it doesn't read my SIM card, thus I cannot use its primary functions as a phone.

To begin with, I am using the SFR (french Vodafone) network, in France. I changed my old phone for this BlackBerry. So as soon as I received the package, I gave it a try with my old SIM card. Surprise, it didn't worked. I tried re-inserting the card, and it did worked, for a while only...After three days of usage, the phone shut off the radio, and when I tried to turn the radio on, it refused to comply. Then I realized the phone would'n not read my SIM anymore. I tried re-inserting it a few times, unsuccessfully.

I tried the SIM on another phone, and it worked perfectly. I even tried another SIM on my Storm, and it worked too. I also talked to someone at a Vodafone store and he told me the problem was either the phone or my SIM card (I kinda figured it out already, though). I don't believe it's the phone since it reads other SIM cards, but my SIM seems to work on other phones.

So could someone advised help me?

Thanks.

A new SIM from Vodafone should solve your problem. Had a similar problem with my SIM but after I used it in another phone and reinsert it in my Storm it worked fine and has been working ever since.

I kind of figured out what the problem was. My contacts' numbers were with the international code 0033... and it kept disturbing the phone. Now I modified the numbers and it's ok.
