I have read posts here and elsewhere describing the problem of unintended deletes but need help how to restore my Outlook calendar items from a regular Norton Ghost (v9.0) backup. Note: after reading posts I now know to create and backup .pst files.
I had my desktop mgr set to sync 730 days prior and future. Yet somehow it was deleting all my outlook calendar items (except recurring and all-day) older than about 30 days. My outlook is set to archive calendar appts more than 6 months old. So, here I am without calendar items between 30 days and 6 months.
I tried to retore the 5 outlook files in ../local settings/app data/ms/outlook but when I started outlook it could not open the files. My best guess is that there are other files in other directories that also need to be restored to sync.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are you on BES through your employer? There may be BES settings that are overriding your efforts.

No, just my personal/business standalone laptop.
If I can restore my calendar appointments as of a recent backup date then can I assume I would only need to recreate the most recent appointments?
