Default New OS - background resize? and some advice for aussies

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All.

firstly a quick word up to any Aussies on here using VodaFone. I went from 4.7.0.78 to the new OS last night, with mixed results (final result is great).
Had a few crashes and error messages come up after it was installed and my phone rebooted two or three times when opening a few apps for the first time, but now its all good and everything is working great (accept for accelodex). the main thing i notice besides the new keyboard is that the phone is SO much faster and smoother! like at least 5 times improvement!

the major issue i had though, is that my BB was no longer picking up that i had a data connection or BIS service. i was unable to use browser, any apps, or go into email settings. it simply said the server cannot be found, and the little Bberry icon thats meant to be next to the 3G symbol at the top was not there.

i noticed after hours of fiddling that the bberry symbol was intermitently appearing-dissapearing. while it was there, i could access brower/email settings etc, but it would only stay for 30 seconds or so and then dissapear again for around 10 minutes. as soon as it dissapeared i could not use any data services. after googling and searching, i finally found something somewhere saying to put the phone in 3G only mode. This fixed my problem 100% - you can do this by going into Options -->Mobile Network and change network mode to 3G instead of "2G and 3G".

booyah.

there were quite a few questions i had, which i've figured out all the answers to accept for one. i have an image i use for my background, and the phone used to auto re-size that image so the whole pic fits on my background screen. with the new OS, the image is enlarged and only a small section is shown on the background and it looks rather zoomed in.

is there anyway to set the background image to "centered" mode instead of "stretch"? (please forgive the windows terminology!)

also - does anyone have accelodex working on this new OS? when i go into it now i just get a white blank screen (menu still works though - its just not loading contacts - and yes i have pressed the refresh/reload contacts button)

cheers!
