Default Blackberry Storm Ringtones Wiped - 06-05-2009, 07:24 PM

Twice now I have loaded 4.7.1.148 rel 203 on to my Blackberry Storm 9530 and both times the pre=loaded ringtones were gone. On the first BB, I loaded 4.7.0.148 and the ringtones were missing. I called Verizon and they sent me a new BB. I checked out this new BB, it was at 4.7.0.75. When I checked Media/Ringtones/Preloaded ringtones, I saw all of the preloaded ringtones. I updated the new BB to 4.7.0.148 and after the load of the OS, the ringtones were gone. I don't know how to reload the OS becuase the Desktop Manager thinks that the device already has the latest software and won't reload. I'm doubting that a reload will help anyway. Has anyone seen this problem? Does any one know of instructions on how to restore the preloaded ringtones?

No I have not. I've only had this BB for a week. Will the memory increasing programs help? Can you point me to instructions?

That is really strange. Did not happen to me and I even just did a hard wipe and they are all still there. Did you by chance back up your phone before upgrading? Maybe the ringtones are in your backup. Just a thought.

Default How was the upgrade done? - 06-15-2009, 04:14 PM

I am curious when you have done the upgrade.. did you do it wired through blackberry desktop manager? or did you do the WEBSL?

I resolved this problem by wipe out my blackberry. Reloaded .75 and went straight 148 then add 5.0 java files only. I got all preloaded ringtones back. Always back up before do downgrade or upgrade.
