Default 9530 failed backup

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

I'm using 9530 4.7.0.141 and trying to upgrade to .148
Unfortunately, backup failed
It failed when it comes to the blackberry messenger contact.

I've been reading the failed backup threads (browser data cache). I know it solves the problem when I clear this part of the database.
But I don't want to do that. Considering i have 500+ contacts in my BB and it takes time to write it one by one.... is there a faster way to do this?

thanks all,

Did you do a back up prior to doing the upgrade. Once you do a backup, proceed with the upgrade and then you can reinstall just the contacts.

yes, i have done upgrade so many times and never had this problem.
i can't do full backup, i can't do advance backup.. its all error in blackberry messenger.

i know clearing this database will solve the problem (not the browser cache, but the blackberry messenger database). but i need this data and does not wish to erase it.

anyone?

Go to your phones browser and click options>cache> and clean all 3 items then try a backup.

Do you have a recent back up that you could go back to if you erased the BBM.

Well...I would just do a wipe with JL commander then install a fresh .148 and reload the BBmessenger from the advanced backup file. Even if you fixed it somehow, the .141 seems to be to buggy. Fresh would be better IMO.
