Default Cannot Open WAV Email Attachment

Please Login to Remove!

I am using Gmail App on my Storm to access my email accounts. I use IMAP not POP3, so that I can easily keep email folders synchronized across my BB and several PCs. I am unable to open WAV files received as email attachments (usually voicemail messages left on my home telephone service). The attached WAV files play without any problem on my PCs, so it is definitely a BB issue.

My system is not BES, so I understand that Blackberry Attachment Service is not available. Also, because I am using IMAP, I don't believe that AudioPOP is a possible solution.

Is anyone aware of a solution or of any third party software that will play these WAV files?

Thanks for any assistance.

Try sending the wav file to maybe a hotmail/msn account (when you can actually receive emails again when the traffic subsides a little) and see if you are able to open it then.

Thanks for the suggestion. That might work, but using BB email app to access emails, rather than GMail App, would defeat the purpose of keeping emails on my desktops and BB in sync. (I started using GMail in order to gather emails from a couple of POP3 accounts and benefit from GMail's IMAP approach.) What I don't understand is why the BB won't open a standard WAV file when attached to an email!
