I did the upgrade thing last weekend and the phone's been fine, but when I observed that I wasn't receiving text messages for two (2) days, I could send but wasn't receiving. I pulled the batter on my Storm this morning and got the following message after it booted up

Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException

I chose Ok, then it told me something about service books ???, I'm not sure, it then had a shite screen with the Blackberry logo on it and didn't seem to be going anywhere, I checked to see if I could lock and unlock it, that worked but it came back to the same white screen, when I pressed the hangup button, it disappeared and I was able to get to my apps.

sometime during all that a text message that someone sent me earlier this morning arrived, but the text messages that were sent to me before didn't appear.

What's the story with that strange message above Uncaught .... and not being able to receive Text messages?

If you're on BIS you should log into your account and resend the service books to your device, if you're on BES ask your admin to resend the service books to your account.

I don't know what BIS and BES are. I don't use my Storm for e-mail or Internet access. I'm really interseted in knowing what "Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException" was about and why I suddenly stopped receiving Text messages.

I THINK it can be fixed by changing default to Allow in the options. That's how I fixed my uncaught errors. It may be a different issue for you though... so please someone correct me if I am wrong and I apologize if I am. When some of my apps did this, I was referred to a forum to where it told me to choose Allow for the apps' "Edit Permissions" tab. Again, if this is not the issue, I apologize.
