Angry Storm has a life of its own

Please Login to Remove!

This evening my blackberry storm started acting like a ghost is controlling it. Menus are popping up and it's just getting stuck. It keeps wanting to move my email and other applications. The menu key also doesn't work. It's like when you see a software demonstration and there's an invisible hand controlling the mouse on your computer -- you can't control what's happening but you see it happening. I hope that makes sense. I have tried the battery pull restart while the phone is on. Doesn't seem to help. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.

I installed the new upgrade about two weeks ago without any problems. My phone will be a year old in November.

This morning, the "ghost" seems to have disappeared in that the phone is acting normally...however, the menu button only works if I hit it between twenty and forty times.

I had this problem when I was running too many applications. Hold the Blackberry button down and see how many apps you have running. Also, check to see how much free memory you have available.

Once I started closing apps instead of pressing the back button, the problem went away. That is - until I run Audible's software.

The only two tricks that I've found to bring my Storm back up to speed are
1) remove the battery. replace.
2) Dial *228 (option 1)
The second step will connect to Verizon and the system somehow checks and updates the phone as needed.

You said you installed the new upgrade can you tell me what ver. that is? Go to Options-About should have a (V#.#.#.###) just before Platform. Also under Memory see how much you have than after that, I would remove the battery and check the memory again. Let us know what you have
