In a few weeks i will be traveling to both london and paris, I would like to be able to use my bb for text voice email ect. what is the absolute best and cheapest way to do this Im on verizon and the rep made it sound relatively cheap to do any help will be greatly appreciated thanks

The best way might be to get the IM+ Skype app and put it on your BB, and then set up your call in # on Skype with a Skype In account (or a pro account, I'm not sure). Otherwise, I would make sure you turn off data under 'Manage Connections' when you don't want data sent, and generally just be careful about your usage.

IMHO, IM+ isn't that great, especially for business communication and is a poor excuse for SKYPE capability. SKYPE to SKYPE is definitely the way to go if you are using a PC however.

Their is no "cheap" way to do international voice and data. I would call Verizon and speak to a CSR about it (you did not identify if the rep you spoke to was someone from a Verizon store or not). They most likely have international voice and data plans which makes the cost a bit better than using your US voice and data in Europe.

Another way would be to unlock the GSM portion of the 9530 and use a local SIM while you are there. Would not go with data however as you would need to cancel your current VZW BIS account here, set it up in Europe, cancel there and reset it up once you return. Seems a lot of extra hassle for not a lot of return, plus if their are problems what do you do?
