| IMHO, IM+ isn't that great, especially for business communication and is a poor excuse for SKYPE capability. SKYPE to SKYPE is definitely the way to go if you are using a PC however.
Their is no "cheap" way to do international voice and data. I would call Verizon and speak to a CSR about it (you did not identify if the rep you spoke to was someone from a Verizon store or not). They most likely have international voice and data plans which makes the cost a bit better than using your US voice and data in Europe.
Another way would be to unlock the GSM portion of the 9530 and use a local SIM while you are there. Would not go with data however as you would need to cancel your current VZW BIS account here, set it up in Europe, cancel there and reset it up once you return. Seems a lot of extra hassle for not a lot of return, plus if their are problems what do you do? |
