Question How to remove email annoyances

Please Login to Remove!

Somebody's gotta have a hack for this. I need to remove all roadblocks in my email. For instance, it doesn't display graphics, I have to click on the menu item to get the graphics, and get this...the GD thing second guesses me on every single email with an IP address warning. If I didn't want to get the images, I wouldn't have selected that menu item to get them. But I shouldn't have to go through the pain to get the images in the first place. The simple fact that I'm opening the email is me stating that I trust the email and give me the whole email. I have the same problem with links in an email as well. When I click on a link. it second guesses me again asking if I really want to go there. I am smarter than my phone. I don't need it second guessing everyhing I do with my email. So who has a mod to turn this stuff off? I have a Storm so anything that removes the pain of trying to use the on screen keyboard is what I'm looking for.

Thanks
Pete

Get used to it. There's no way around doing what you want to do.

You can always suggest a feature change to RIM.

On a similar note I emailed the UberTwitter developers and made some suggestions with regard to confirmation dialogs - do not use them unless necessary. e.g Don't put up a modal dialog saying "Tweet Sent". Only inform us if there is an error. Success? Great! As it should be, shut down the app and save battery ! No extra clicks required. Some people do go a little OTT with confirmations or acknowledgements of successful processing. If you haven't tried UberTwitter do so : far and away the best Twitter app Ihave tried. And the developers acknowledge and agreed with my slight improvement suggestions to this great application.

Beta-3 Now Released! Plus - Bug Fix for timeline update released | ƜberTwitter

Very well written, stable, configurable and looks good. It doesn 't feel like so many other apps that its just some generic java app shoe horned into the storm.

Unhappy

I'll definately give RIM my 2 cents worth. Seriously, what do they take us for, a bunch of idiots that have to be protected from ourselves?

Do you know of any other mail readers available for Storm? I used to use BBSmart's mail reader until it became unsupported on BB.

thx

When you do contact RIM, might I suggest toning it down and possibly being a little more mature with your ranting/suggestion?

I doubt you'll get any results if you continue with the attitude you currently display here.

That's my 2 cents worth.

What..I didn't use the little angry face icon. lol

Sorry I don't mean to come across as an a-hole. I just see this as an insult and the fact that it happens all the time just makes me so angry. (u see the marvin the martain reference here?) But ok, next time I'll be nice

But are there any other mail readers out there?

Pete

I think he had a very good point. Overly mothering people in something they use regularly in a day is not a good design. All the checks should be options enabled for amateur users. RIM could and should have made a far better job of the design.

I was looking myself but not with much luck. Maybe drop RIM a line and explain why you think the current SW is a hindering you. It surely can't be that difficult for them to optionize the annoying "idiot filters". They managed it with "prompt to delete" so I suspect its not done for the other features because everything was rushed.

Wirelessly posted

The problem is that if RIM removes this, someone will probably gripes because it is gone.
By the way, this is probably the biggest annoyance for me.

Yea, I read an article about MS toning down Win7's new UAC and people complained then too. "I'm not warned enough..." Those people shouldn't have computers. I disable that too.

I see it this way. It is not the job of the OS to be my security agent also. I have other software for that which does a far better job since that is its focus.
