Default My Storm won't turn off headset

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone...
i have the problem with my BB 9500 Storm . After installing 4.7.0.148 last night my phone is constantly in headset mode. That means, I need to make a call than change to handset mode, same thing is when i have incoming call too...
I tried to downgrade firmware, wipe handheld, tried to remove battery while it's working..and the problem is still here...
Somebody know what to do?
Thanks in advance...

I had the same problem and that made it work. I put in the headset and took it out and have not had that problem again since. The funny thing though was that Verizon tech support told me to trade the phone and they had no answer. The store told me to call Verizon tech support. They both bounced me back and fourth and I fixed my own problem.

I've had the same os for about 2 months without a problem and this all of a sudden happened. Should I switch or waste the time and gas to deal with verizon?

I have the exact same problem. I am running .148 and have been since the ota upgrade without problems until yesterday. It started like this-One minute I am listening to music on my media player with my headset (one that has no mike) and the next thing you know it freezes up. I could not do anything I pulled the battery, finished mowing my lawn. An hour later, my phone rang and when I hit the receive button, after some time I realized it was still on headset mode. Since then I am unable to use the handset without manually forcing the phone to Activate Handset. I have tried quick pull, a real battery pull, a reset from Meter Berry but still have the problem. Another thing to mention, During this timeframe verizon has downloaded two new apps to my phone (VCast Song ID and Vzw Tones) both of which i cannot figure out how to erase from the phone. Coincidence? Any thoughts? When/if a go to the Vzw store I'll follow up

Default Psuedo-Fix for no Handset Audio

Have a fix that works for the headphones not turning off. I have had the problem when trying to make a call... don't hear the ring, but can hear it via speakerphone or speaker in headphone jack.

This has happened twice intermitently (sp?) after listening to music via the headphone jack. The fix I have found is to go into the media player, play a song, hit options, and you can toggle either handset or speakerphone. Toggle it to handset... and everything should work.

I am a gearhead, so I don't know for sure what is happening, but perhaps if one pulls the headset jack out mid song, maybe the phone doesn't recognize this, and defaults to headset jack or speakerphone and not handset?

Hope this helps....

I tried that to no avail. I can get it to get to the handset but I have to do manually by pressing the bb button and choosing enable handset.the problem is that the handset setting is not saved so I have to manually do it every phone call.pita

after my problem i downloaded the .148 os and same thing so i took it in to verizon and they used a can of compressed air and said it was a contact in the headphone jack and if it were to happen again slide the headphones in at an angle VERY carefully and that should help but they fixed it in about 30 sec and i was pretty relieved. saved me 50$
