Default Texting Multiple People

Please Login to Remove!

I have 15 employees all on verizon company phones and frequently I like to send out mass text messages. They are installers in the field and do not have phones with email capabilities, so text is the only quick form of communication. I'd like to know if anyone knows a way to create a list where I can put all 15 numbers as part of that list so when I'm ready to text them all, I can simply send a text to that list rather than individually selecting each employees contact each time.

I'd love to just make a "all employees" contact that has everyone's number stored so I can send everyone a text at the same time by only selecting one list.

Any help?

I forgot to mention that I am using the storm... that's the reason I posted it here was in order to get help creating that list on my storm.

Thanks,

Go to Address Book > Menu Key > New Group.

Name the Group "All Employees" and then add all the contacts to that group. Then when you send a text, send it to All Employees.

He wants to send out 15...what if I need to send out 500 text messages in one shot without having to put people in groups of 10? Is that possible?

I just called Verizon and they said they werent sure and to call RIM...when i call RIM they actually charge you per question! Can anyone vouch for the storm being able to send out mass text messages in quantities of 500 or more and know for a fact it can be done?

I've never sent a mass SMS message to 500 people, but I have sent to over 50 using groups without an issue.

I don't believe there is a limit on the number of people in a group. I am not aware of one.

The limit of 10 is when you enter in individual addresses into a text message.

@ jthetripper

Did you ever have any problems sending out texts to a mass group?

I'm thinking that the limit for number of contacts in a groups is around 1600.

That's about the number of contacts I had on my phone before I had to create another group for sending out messages.

I've successfully sent out texts to a group of 1500 contacts.
