Default How do I retain calendar entries? - 07-17-2009, 05:40 AM

I currently have around 3700 calendar entries. I keep all sorts of information in the notes section of each entry pertaining to the job I was on and I often search my calendar looking for a location or a crew member that was associated with a date or job. I sync my Storm with Outlook regularly but from time to time it seems like the Storm is purging old calendar entries and when I sync I see that BB sync wants to delete 2500+ calendar entries in Outlook to match the BB calendar. Clicking the re-sync button will add all the missing entries back into the BB calendar but I'd like to know if there is a way to stop the Storm from purging the old entries in the first place.

Any suggestions?

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

I don't know of a way to save to media card. If there is a way through a 3rd party app then problem solved.

Check this setting:

Open Calendar>Options>General Options>Scroll to Actions>Check the "Keep Appointments" field - set it to "Forever".

Angry I've been facing the same problem... - 07-18-2009, 08:46 AM

I've been facing the same problem. It seems appeared when I went over certain amount of events in my Outlook Calendar (over 3,000 I guess). The setting Calendar>Options>General Options>Scroll to Actions>Check the "Keep Appointments" field - set it to "Forever" doesn't help at all in correcting this issue/bug. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had similar problem, although have only 300-400 calendar entries. My BB calendar settings were "keep forever" and despite that, after every sync it prompted me to accept deletion of about 40 entries. Re-sync helps. What also helped, was setting the BB calendar option to "keep 1 month" (or so) and then re-setting it back to "keep forever". So it seems like soft bug...

Default No solution with Re-Sync - 07-18-2009, 09:39 AM

Mike,

Thanks, but it seems the problem is not a "sync" issue/bug but instead a BB software one with the new system (didn't happen before upgrading). It is the mobile which after certain period of time (few days if so), by itself and w/o doing any sync, just goes ahead erasing past events. As I wrote be4, I have set the keep permanently all calendar events. No matter that, it keeps erasing them.

Weird!

Anyone have a better work around for this problem? So far the only thing that seems can be done is to "re-sync" to restore the entries to the BB.

Default a bit more help... - 09-08-2009, 02:40 PM

Sorry for the hassle, but I'm using Outlook 2007 and I can't find a way to follow your instructions below:

Open Calendar>Options>General Options>Scroll to Actions>Check the "Keep Appointments" field - set it to "Forever"

With calendar open, I can only find options by going through "tools" and I can't find General Options or any of the further locations you mentioned. Please advise if possible.

Thanks very much.

Welcome to the forums.

This is to be done on the BlackBerry, not in Outlook.

Autoupdated to desktop v5 and still have this bug. What a nuisance this is! If an entry is changed the sync ends up creating double entries and I have to delete the old entry manually on both Outlook and my Storm or it will create a double entry the next time it's sync'd.
