hi i was using my storm and i left it in the table wend a coming to make a call the phone was off i think that the battarie needs to be charge and i plug it to the charger and left it to charge wend i went came back to check it.the red light wasent lid.even with the phone plug to the charger the phone dosent power on.this phone needs the batterie to funtion ? that anyone knows what happen to my phone ?

Have you tried taking out the battery for about 10 minutes and then putting it back in?

My kids phone did the same thing also today? Kirrinjones why 10 minutes? Due you think it a heat problem?

Well I just threw out a number on the time, some persons have left it out longer. What I've experienced and have heard is when the battery is completely dead and you recharge it. It still doesn't power on, so removing the battery and power from the circuits for awhile, then putting it back in normally works.

Kirrinjones have you seen this happen only on 148 or across all OS's ? I am going to let one of our other phones die all the way, see what happens? If this is how they our than I can live it that. I just want to make sure that some phones are not defected?

Yes most phones will not turn on without a battery. The battery has several contacts that complete the circuit.

My Storm just died this weekend. As I wrote in another post, I was checking messages with the battery 90% full, set it down for about an hour, came back and the thing was dead. Used a voltmeter to confirm battery still had charge, left it out for 15 minutes, put it back in...still dead. Swapped out another battery...still dead. Eight months into my plan, Verizon confirmed it was dead today, and exchanged it no questions asked. (thank god) Never dropped, never met water. I took such good care of that thing, and it just stopped working.

Glad Verizon took care of you. What software Ver. did you have on your phone? If you recall.

I'd done the latest OTA update about a month earlier.

Interestingly, my new Storm is running v.148 on platform .181 and Options>Advanced Options>Wireless Update claims there are "No Updates Available". Since I was on .208 before, there clearly IS an update. But the OTA app I used the first time around hasn't been 'pushed' to me on this phone, like on the last one (as I seem to recall?)

On the other hand, I've got the new edit cursor, so it looks and feels like the .208 update? I'm confused. Happy everythings working, but a bit confused.

There is no software to be pushed because your phone is already on the 148. When something new comes out than you can OTA to your phone when Verizon releases it.

got the new battery replace it for the old one and phone power up but there a problem the phone gets very very hot,imagen that a have to pick the phone with a towel because it will burn my hand.what is happening with the phone

The phone should never become that hot. Take it in to be checked out by your local store that has you have your service with.

Just go to Blackberry.com and find there number and just call. Don't hurt to try. You can also ask the person you bought it from if they recall when they bought the phone and from what carrier it was on if it even was on?

try to contact the seller but dosent answer and try all of the method in the blackberry site and nobody answer
