Blackberry Desktop Manager 5.0
I have a storm 9530 and just upgraded to the Blackberry 5.0 Desktop manager and now it won't sync. I have not had a problem prior to the upgrade. Any sugggestions ??

Do you have it properly configured?

Does DM see the BB and show the proper PIN?

Are you connected via a HUB or plugged directly into the PC?

Assuming that you sync to Outlook, what version do you have?

I had the same issue. Had to uninstall, delete the left over folders on the hard drive, then re-install. Worked just fine after that. Tech support inidcated that just running the 5.0 upgrade without first un-installing 4.7 had some known issues.

What they said. I had an issues with the Roxio Media Manager. All I did was d/l the desktop manager with media, installed and all was fine. I did not need to unistall anything.

I had trouble updating the DM at first, but once it was installed it seems to run flawless. Oh, great...I probably just jinxed myself!

problem loading roxio MM after downloading 5.0
So i have a BB storm, i've had it for three months now and i've never had a problem with my media manager...until now..ive just updated to v 5.0..i open up the desktop manager but it won't let me open the media manager at all it says
"Image File " file::C:/Program Files/Common File/Roxio Shared/9.0/Common Resources/Shared/Generic/Images/About_RIM_Background.png" cannot be loaded..then it says Image File " file::C:/Program Files/Roxio/Media Manager 9/Resources/Default/Generic/Images/AboutMM.png" cannot load
and of course after that my windows error report pops up with Media Manager9 Module has encountered a problem and needs to close. I have not altered any of these files or anything since i installed the program, i have however since encountering this problem uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop manager with the same persisting problem.
Please help. :cry:

Desktop Manager dims after connecting my Storm
I'm having a similar problem. After I installed 5.0.1, every time I try to connect my Storm (9530). As soon as I enter my password, the DM screen dims. The PIN shows up (that it recognizes my BB) however I can't perform the backup function that I want to.

To answer Dubdub's questions, I'm connecting directly to my laptop and BB. The DM does recognize my BB and the associated PIN. I do not sync to Outlook.

I really appreciate any help that comes my way.

Little background (FWIW), about 3 days ago my BB DM shortcut disappeared and I couldn't find the BB .exe on my laptop. I then used Add/Remove programs and removed what BB app(s) it found. I then d/l'd the 5.0.1 files and installed them.
