Unhappy BBM 5.0 can not add pin numbers with letters.

Please Login to Remove!

try to add a pin that has letters in it, it recognizes it as an email address and not a pin number, even with that if I try to send the request I get this error...you have entered and invalid address. ???????????????

Welcome to the forums.

Type the PIN as it is, for Numbers press the Alt key. Once you have the entire PIN entered, scroll from Email to PIN.

Did that, I know how to but if too many letters are entered it automatically takes away the PIN option...even if I do select the PIN I still get the error

I have no problems adding a contact if their pin is all numbers!!!

Hmm, I haven't had an issue adding a contact since installing BBM 5.0.

Does this user also have BBM 5.0? If so, try using the barcode to add the contact.

don't put in too many letters, PINs are always 8 character long, if enter more than 8, you've created the issue.

But to be clear, BBM5 does accept PINs with alpha characters.

no they dont have bbm 5.0 so I can't do the barcode, an example pin that was not accepted...303aiff3 it has 4 letters and was not accepted or 303ab579 was also not accpeted, so not sure whats up but it's getting frustrating....

The PINS I added were alphanumeric and they were accepted.

The issue with the first pin is it has an "i" in it. PIN numbers are hexadecimal,0-9, a-f. That is causing your issue.

I just tried the second PIN you posted and I was able to send a request without issue.

303ab579 works, just added them to my BBM. We'll see if they accept
If you know them, tell them to do so.
