You are not the only one to notice this, happens on mine as well.

Some of us are trying to figure this out, it is not happening to everyone.

Could list what third party applications you have loaded? That might help some troubleshooting.

Thanks in advance!
1. Follow the procedure above to load the OS
2. Follow the StickyNote procedure, again, on how to make the 9530 work on ATT/Tmobile. You must go back through that process EACH time you load a new OS.

OK - there are a lot of good things about this new OS, but it will not charge - not with my wall charger, USB to computer, or car charger. Luckily I have a 2nd battery and portable battery charger. I have to switch out batteries every 8 hours or so - because the new OS drains so much faster. Is there a specific program that messes this up: Viigo, Slacker, etc?? What can I do?

OK ...it's been like a week with the new OS. It is still awesome too! I have honestly not had one issue, save the whole theme thing. I'm sure that will be worked out as well in time! Great job Verizon!

Default Problems, Quickpull, Charging, and Google Voice. - 11-01-2009, 10:22 AM

Does anyone know of a quickpull app. that works for the new vs5.0 because, my main problems are charging issues which i have to reset with a manual quicpull each time I want to charge. Number two my quickpull app, does not work, and number three I cannot download Google Voice. Has anyone had any luck on downloading google voice to the new version. Or if they could give me the app some how I woudl appreciate it. The regular mobile google voice site says my device is not supported.

Change your phone browser option to "FireFox", then go to the google voice mobile site and download it.

I had the same issue and found this a few days ago:
How to use QuickPull on OS 5.0 - Steelthorn Software - FAQ

As for me, there are a couple of issues that are still bothering me after the OS update. First, my memory usually starts at 30MB, within a couple of hours gets down to 20MB and by the afternoon it falls below 12MB. I never noticed this before the update but then again I didn't check as often as I do now. Has anyone experienced a similar memory leak since the update?

I've tried narrowing down the apps that could be causing this and started by uninstalling WeatherBug but I am still seeing some leak of memory. Next app will be UberTwitter but I really hope I don't have to go that far.

The second issue is related to sound quality, not only the ringer/alerts as someone mentioned above, but more troubling during calls. And it's an issue when putting the phone to my ear, the speakerphone and even when using my bluetooth headset.

Whatever assistance anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

No dimming here when tilting. But have noticed that the hard key unlock is a bit wonky and the phone no longer shows that it's charging, even though it is.

I love the responsiveness of the 5.0. Much improved and now makes me feel like I have a usable smartphone. Only a year after getting it. Finally!

Since my update I have had the phone mysteriously reboot without cause. Today after the reboot I noticed that my wallpaper now no longer fills the screen but has been cut off at top and bottom. So the areas which used to be partially opaque are now totally opaque and I can't find any setting to return to the way it was. Has anybody seen this?

Did my update in about 20 mins. No issues. New OS is definitely better in overall. I did noticed from time to time the screen will be dimmed. Not sure why and need sometime to see if I can find the pattern what cause that.

I have also read some early posts said now the phone goes to "lock" during the call automatically to prevent the accidental press the "Mute" with your face.... I could not find any settings related to that function, Any insight?

Thanks,

I got a JVM error on mine just out of the blue after loading 5.0.0.328. I just hooked it back up and reloaded it again. That's all it took to get mine working again.

1 is the MNC and MCC settings I have storm on tmobile and mine are 310 and 00
the other is some have have better luck with .327

Instructions are on my blog....sorry but I would post, but it is longgggggg

Just for the knowledge, I often read that "...delete vendor.xml file before upgrade...", is any particular reasons for that? So far, I have done two OS upgrade, both are official Verizon release (of course I am on Verizon service plan), and I didn't need to delete file before upgrade. If there is special advantage with that extra step, I would certainly like to try.

Thanks in advance for the insight.

Is anybody having issues with Bluetooth after the upgrade. My car and Jawbone device will go into continuous ringing mode after I hang up a call. When the phone syncs connects to my car, the car thinks there is a call in progress. I have tried deleting and readding the bluetooth devices, but no go.

The new OS makes the phone so much better, but this bluetooth issue is annoying.

The only time you need to delete the vendor.xml file is when you are installing a carrier's OS on a non-carrier's device. i.e. installing a French carrier's OS on an American phone.

Would you mind telling me how you go it to work? Every time I've tried upgrading it, it tells me no circuit/channel when I try and make a call

Your not alone. Getting the same error. Had to revert back to 4.7.
Some people had luck changing the settings in the service menu:

From the Phone app, enter ##000000 then hit the green button:
