Okay... have you recently added or upgraded a third-party application? Once you install the OS, are you then restoring your contacts, calendar entries, notes, etc.? In other words, once you are finished installing the OS, are your contacts, calendar entries, etc. on the phone or are you manually entering your data and adding applications one by one again?
My thinking is that either something has gotten corrupted in permissions/data or you have recently installed or upgraded a third-party application that is having trouble. Then, when you restore your data after installing the OS, you are restoring the problem back onto the phone.
If you have the time and are so inclined, do the following:
- Backup your phone using the Desktop Manager.
- Install the latest OS (check first to make sure there are no reported problems that you want to avoid) but make sure you do not restore anything to the phone, including data and third-party applications. In other words, install the OS, but do not let Desktop Manager restore your data or your third-party applications.
- One by one, selectively install your data first and make sure everything is working right.
- Lastly, you will need to install your applications one by one at this point. I would install them via the phone instead of via Desktop Manager, but that's your call. Either way, make sure to install an application and test the phone to make sure it is working as expected.
This could take a while depending on how many third-party applications you have, but if the result is you determine what is causing the problem, then it would be worth it in my opinion. Plus, since you should make a full backup before you begin this, if anything goes horribly wrong, you still have all your data safely backed up that you can access if need be.
Additionally, since I don't use the 9500 series devices, I have no experience with them or their issues. So, you should browse the forums to make sure this isn't being reported by someone else to see if there is possibly a less drastic solution.
