Default Installing 5.0.0.328 on an unlocked 9530 - 11-02-2009, 09:47 PM

Hi

Maybe I am missing it in the forum search, but, I have a 9530, unlocked, with no Verizon service.

I downloaded 5.0.0.328 via rapidshare.

When I tryo to use DM to upgrade to 5.0.0.328, I press "next", only to get a message that I need an active Blackberry service to upgrade, and I cannot continue. I should also mention that do not have my T-mobile SIM in it, but, that had never mattered.

When I try to upgrade via loader.exe, it doesn't even acknowledge there's a new OS to install (and yes, I deleted vendor.xml)

How does one upgrade form 4.7.x.x to 5.0.0.328 with no Verizon service?

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff, I haven't had this problem, and I don't know why a few do.

But on your PC, use Control Panel > Add/Remove Progs and remove all other 9530 OS installs, reboot the PC and try using loader.exe again.

I just installed 5.0.0.328 on an unlocked 9530, which doesn't have a Verizon SIM card in it. 64 bit Windows 7.
