Default New HTML email options in Email Settings - 11-04-2009, 06:40 PM

Hi All,

I noticed that under Messages Options, Email Settings, there are two new settings that weren't in OS 4.7:

Confirm External Image Download

Hoping that this might set it to automatically download images, I set Download to Yes and Confirm to No. Unfortunately I still have to select Get Images from the menu in order to see new ones, but at least it doesn't make me confirm it like it used to on my Pearl.

I'm thinking the first option will only work if/when RIM decides to allow automatic image download over their BIS servers or a business over their BES servers?

Any other thoughts?

AS the Download images automatically appers in 4.6, and only appears if the option "enable html email" is set to yes; it will be in 4.7

Download Images Automatically - applies to images that are embedded in the message. It does not apply to images that are external and only linked from the message itself.

Confirm External Image Download - as you noted, you can now set this option so that, once you do a Get Images, it doesn't prompt you to confirm any more. I am SO glad they finally added this.
