Unhappy Storm2 Voicemail Indicator Stuck - 11-06-2009, 04:18 PM

I've Googled around and no solution works so far.

My Storm2 (9550 v5.0.0.0320) voicemail indicator on the main\home screen is stuck saying "2" voicemails. It doesn't go up or down when I have new or if I delete voicemails. This is the on-screen voicemail indicaor right under the time and date. If I get a new voicemail, the VVM icon comes on with a number, but the standard counter doesn't change. VVM works and confirms that I have no messages.

I've done the following:
- Battery pull for 10 min
- Left myself a voicemail from a land-line, listened and deleted it
- Called into voicemail, listened to all the prompts and pressed * to exit
- Asked the VZW store geeks, no luck there
- Turned message waiting indicator on/off
- ReActivated the phone on VZW network
- I'd prefer not to wipe and re-sync as that seems drastic and might not work anyway.

Any ideas or anyone else stuck?

I had my Storm 1 stuck once showing one voicemail.
The next time I got a voicemail, and erased it, it disappeared.
Now, I use Google Voice for my voicemail, and dont get the notification icon
