Default Storm keeps taking photographs (and is pretty much unusable most of the time)

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I've just joined to see if anyone here can help me. I've been to a vodafone shop and been told that I need to remove my battery and sim card every 2 weeks...... no joy!

My blackberry is only a few months old, and is the second one that I've had from vodafone - my first one was sent back as it kept playing up.

This one is now almost unusable and is driving me mad. The phone, no matter what I'm doing, keeps going to camera and taking photos. This happens when I'm on the phone, trying to write a text message or email, trying to make call etc. Even when the phone is not being used, it just keeps reverting to camera and it takes a photo every 5 seconds. I have hundreds, if not over a thousand photos in my albums of darkness, or a wall. I'm tied into a 2 year contract unfortunately, and my next option is to take it to a vodafone shop and allow them to send it off.

However, I was hoping that someone here might have had the same issue and has a solution, or in the least some words of advice.

thanks in advance.

At Options > Screen/Keyboard, do you have your right or left Convenience key set to the camera?

If so, change that to something else, or nothing.

Hi JSanders,

I have done that and so far it has worked. It's too early to tell but it's looking promising. I'll let you know.

If this works you have saved a Blackberry Storm from being thrown under a bus!

Many many thanks

Hello again JSanders,

Just to let you know that my phone hasn't taken a phoo for the last few hours so seems fixed. I can't tell you what a relief this is.

Thank you so much for helping
