Default personal email and browser issues

Please Login to Remove!

So, my blackberry storm 9550 is having issues with personal emails and the browser. First of all, whenever I am trying to setup my personal emails, it says "Your device had a problem connecting to the server". The other issue is my storm only has one configuration for the browser which is Hotspot Browser. I have data plan on my service. Any idea how I can change to the data plan? Hopefully someone can help. Thanks in advance!!

Hey that is the exact opposite of my problem. I have a Telus 9550 on the Rogers network. I have a SIM card with a voice and BB data plan and I can only see the Internet browser. I pop out the SIM card and I can ony see the Hotspot browser. I put in my T-Mobile SIM card (which I use when I travel to the US) that only has voice on it and I get the WAP browser and the Hotspot browser.

It is really annoying to be standing 10 feet from my router and have to use my data plan or connecting to a WiFi hotspot and having only the Internet browser available. BTW when I put the same Rogers SIM card into my old 8320 I get the Internet, WAP and Hotspot browser.

boss, do you have a BB data plan? You need to have that for the BB browser and email.

yes I do. I used to use Blackberry Bold 9000 and it worked fine. When I switched to Storm 9550, I didn't have the browser icon and I followed the instructions posted by JSanders and I got the browser back. But, the setting for the browser only has hotspot browser.

Do you have the proper service books? Since your carrier doesn't have that model, that is most likely the problem. Were the instructions concerning service books?

I probably don't. I am not sure how to do that. I followed the instructions to unlock the storm posted by JSanders but at step 7 when we need to go to the BIS page, I am not sure what to do. I went to the website and not sure which IMEI and PIN I should register. How do you get the proper service books? I just realized that after I do the steps to get the browser, if I take out the battery, the browser will disappear.

You need to register your IMEI and PIN from the 9550. That might get you the services books.
