Default Storm 2 is it Really Worth it

Please Login to Remove!

I just spoke to VZ today and they will allow me to upgrade on my wife's phone so after all the online discounts and rebates, I will only pay $79.99 for the phone. I am coming from an iPhone, so the question to those who have used both is the Storm 2 worth it, I do not like the Droid's keyboard, and to move to an Eris, I might as well keep the iPhone.

I have no trouble with the iphone just sick of paying for both plans, and the VZ plan gives me more options for my family, however it was hard trying to use the Storm 2 after using an iPhone 3GS for 6 months.

Anyone out there come across anything similar?

Thanks

As long as you can live with Bing being pushed down your throat the S2 is a pretty good phone. I compared mine with a friend who has one of the original iPHones and his comments was that with the exception of the "pince" sizing there was not that much difference. He also said that the current version of the software for his phone was not all that stable. I asked if he tried a battery pull and he laughed.

Try it, you'll like it.

I think it really depends on what you value in a phone. I just switched from ATT and find Verizon as good as advertised...Stronger signals in more places, fewer dropped calls (none for me in over a month), less busy network... Also, the Storm 2's voice quality is second to none. Messaging, the ability to synch with Outlook or Google, and the business-like orientation of the phone are very good.

The strong point of the iPhone is user interface, browsing, and perhaps the 100,000 apps (although if BB has all the apps you want then...).

If the Storm 2 is what you need and want, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

The Storm 2 is as good as the iPhone but has a different focus. I definitely believe that the Storm 2 is worthwhile as long as you are looking for a BlackBerry and not an iPhone-like experience.

I'm loving my Storm2. I waited in line when the Storm1 came out but returned it. I didn't like the typing and couldn't deal with the bugs. I love this one. It's so much better than almost any phone I've owned.

Wirelessly posted

I love the storm two also. The only Thing I don't like is barely getting through a day with battery life. But not eveyone has had that problem.

I would definately try it out for a couple of days at least and if you don't like it then return it and if you do then keep it...

I was a die hard QWERTY keypad fan before i got an iPod Touch - the software and UI are to die for but the amount of useless crap available for the iPod Touch (and subsequently the iPhone for that matter) is unbelievable...

1) Battery pulls are impossible unless you have amazing telekenetic abilities
2) Personally i don't like the iPod Touch/iPhone feedback-less touch screen
3) the battery life it self is crap
4) it aint a messaging phone that's for sure

Again those are just my personal points of view however i was that impressed with the Storm 2 that i refused the Bold 2 in order to have it... And i haven't looked back since One happy Storm 2 owner here (albeit in the UK)
