I have heard that it is good to take battery out of blackberry from time to time. How often should I do this though?

Whenever you encounter a problem.

There is a long string on it here somewhere. (I know because I started it a few months ago.) I argued about the need and learned that many of the old timers (whose opinions I respect) seem to pull their batteries daily. That said, I seldom have on any of my BBs and as MD says, recommend to just do it when you encounter a problem. If you seem to have frequent problems, then you may want to get in the habit of just doing it regularly (daily) before the problems occur.

I do it whenever I'm bored..
Or once a week..
Or when my file free goes below 20mb..
Or when I remember..

I was one of those people with an 8100 though and got in the habit of doing so every other day. Here again recently I've been doing so almost daily on my storm because I've been playing with apps a lot... Check your file free status, and do it whenever it gets low?

I do it on the 1st every month. Sometimes you have to do a pull after you upload a new app in order to clean up and clear memory.

Wirelessly posted (Lets Go Canes!)

I tend to do more resets after trying all of the beta apps on this site. There's no set schedule. Obviously more usage - more resets.

Storm2 has been incredibly stable and probably doesn't need frequent pulls. Nonetheless, I downloaded Quick Pull from the App Store. It does a "pull" on schedule every 24 hours, and the device works flawlessly.

on my 9500 i use memory booster (s4bb v3.1.0 free) first to clear up memory and if it doesnt boost my free memory back above the 20mb mark i'll do a battery pull. Still do it daily

on my 9550 i do it daily >.< force of habit but yeah with more memory it is also more stable and require less pulls

With my TMO Curve, I hardly ever pulled the battery...like once every couple of weeks to month or two. It never needed it.

I find the need to do so disconcerting, esp since I am looking to come back to a BB if my trial time with the Droid is unsatisfactory (about a 50-50 proposition right now).

I found that I have to do a battery pull when my 9550 stops working with SYNCH on my Ford Fusion. This has turned out to be a rather good indicator.
