I just switched from the full keyboard to the SureType keyboard and now there's always a "123" icon in the top right corner but it goes away if I switch back to the full keyboard. Why is that there and what does it mean?

I thought that was the issue originally but that's not it. Even if the icon is not there it always comes back once I lock the phone.
