I have a Bberry Storm1 9530 with .328. When I performed the OS upgrade a few months ago, I immediately noticed; less memory available (now at ~11MB), frequent white screens followed by a reboot, and memory bleeding rapidly to less than 1MB in 2-3 days. I also noticed every time I bring up DM (5.0.1.28) on my Win-XP PC, it states I need to update my device with Blackberry 5.0.0 Core Applications. Isn't this what .328 already contains?

Do I need to start over with a fresh build of .328? What is the process for wiping a Bberry completely clean, install the latest OS and then reload my 3party apps? In the future, is it necessary to completely wipe the device before loading a fresh OS?

You can download BBSAK (Blackberry Swiss Army Knife) for free. Make sure you get the latest version. BBSAK will allow you to perform a wipe and fresh install. Make sure you back up your files on the DM first.

If you use BBSAK, you will be able to restore your settings, address book but not your third party apps. I normally manually restore my settings and just reinstall my contacts and address book. I also individually restore my third party apps.

Do not restore your third party apps with BBSAK. It bundles them into one file and this causes all kinds of conflicts I have found. Just restore them individually after the wipe.
