Default SMS Text Screen Callback Number

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Storm 9530 and whenever a test message comes in, looking at the screen with the BB in the vertical position, I get the keyboard on the bottom, and the callback number just above that which only leaves me 1 line to read the incoming text.

How do I get rid of the displayed callback number so I can see more text without hiding the keyboard?

TIA
Jim

Ok I think I have it. I looked thru the options and found that I had my font size set to 14. Due to the larger size, it took up more of the screen to display the callback number.

I went into Options then Screen/Keyboard and set the font size to 10. This still allows the callback number to be displayed but on 1 line instead of 3 which will give you 4 lines to read the incoming text. If you try try font size 11 or 12, you will see that you lose one more line for reading your text the larger you go.

Let me know how this works out for you.

Tip: Ask the person that you are texting with to turn their callback number off. To do this on the Storm, Options > SMS Text > Touch your Callback Number > BB button > Clear.

It will come back after a battery pull, but you just repeat as necessary. Every Verizon phone can turn the callback number off. Dumbphones will remain off once they are deleted.

You would have to do this with everyone that has there callback number set to ON. And even if they turn it off, you still get the words Callback Number in the display but it will just be blank.

Setting the font size to something smaller fixes the issue whether you power down or not. I prefer using the smaller text. It is still clear enough to read and I get enough lines of text to suit me.

Others may prefer telling everyone to turn their callback number off. I'll stick with what I've done..
