Wondering if there is a way to turn off ONLY my BB messenger?

Not that I am aware. What you can do is adjust your profile so you may not get the alerts or you may uninstall.

Just remove the BBM. That's what I did. For me it's a useless app because it only talks to other BB's and why would anyone restrict themselves like that? Use Google talk, it runs on EVERY type of phone.
