Hey guys, I just got a used Storm 9530 from a friend a few days ago. The phone is originally from Verizon and I'm currently locked into a Bell contract, so I wanted to re-work the phone so it could work with Bell.
After numerous people telling us it couldn't be used on Bell's network, we got into the CDMA Edit screen and entered the correct values and updated the software--so it could finally make and receive calls and texts (yay!).
Our problem now is I've upgraded to a data plan, but the device still won't connect to any networks. Bell said everything is fine on their end, and it "should work" without issue, but clearly that's not the case... we've checked every menu option, and data detection is all turned on so we've tried pretty much everything. We suspect the main issue is that we can't change the Blackberry Registration ID from 2004 to what it should be--it's a drop-down menu and not a field I can edit. (I think it's supposed to be something like 16240, I have it written down somewhere but not in front of me).
So my question is, is this the actual issue, and if so how can we change it? My boyfriend and I have gone from knowing pretty much zero about Blackberrys a few days ago to trying to re-work this thing ten ways from Sunday--so we definitely appreciate any help we can get from some actual experts! I also have a verizon storm, and I'm trying to get it to work on Virgin Mobile CDMA, which uses Bell's network. Can you please tell me what you changed in the CDMA Service Edit Screen to make it on on Bell? Thanks
