Moved from Curve which operates much differently.

1) Smartphone v5.0.0.320 (platform 4.2.0.124) Which number is it when they list the version software I need to be aware of when I look for apps to load?

2) on the Curve BB weather loaded easily and appeared as an icon on the screen directly but now it appears only in downloads and won't work properly. Do I need to get another version? Is there a better weather app? I don't mind paying a few dollars.

3) under the "Applications" folder, there apps that did appear directly on the screen of the Curve without having to open the "Application" folder first. Is there a way to move any of these apps which I use often up to the main screen?

4) On the Curve, PIN, email and sms messages appeared just under the messages icon but on the Storm, there is a separate SMS icon. Is there a way to get SMS and all messages to go directly to the message icon and not end up in the SMS icon?

Yes you can move icons. in theory (dont know how it works exactly on a touchscreen)
highlight icon to move
menu - move to folder
then the same but menu-move to move around the screen.

Not sure in Os 5 where it is, but MESSAGES - menu - Options. It will be one of those to COMBINE email and sms inboxes

Hello, I am new to this forum but not new to using a blackberry (6 years) I am interested to switch to the storm model as I heard bad things about the typing/keyboard. My question does storm 2 have a much improved keyboard, eg, is typing significantly better on storm 2 than storm1?

I do a lot of typing and I am sure it is a matter of getting used to it (actual keaypad vs touch screen) Is my assumption correct?
