Instructions for installing either version on ANY carrier's 9530:
1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Vista/Win7 users: In the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. Once you've got that - simply delete the vendor.xml file there (even if you've deleted or think you've deleted it in the folder previously) and voila, it will allow you to update to the newly installed OS!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Strange that this is almost identical to the previous version (18.104.22.1684/22.214.171.1249) except that the package version has increased to 126.96.36.1998. Also this was released on February 12th, 2010 and the radio file was created on February 8th, 2010. There could be some minor bug fixes in this release...
Maybe mobile banking will work on this release. Anybody find a work around for the permissions issue?
What is latest OS update available directly from Verizon?
I think Verizon last pushed .323, which had some issues.
I ran .328 beta and recently just upgraded to .419.
didn't fix the permissions on mobile banking. not seeing any difference from .674.
Looks like this release will also be showing up for:
So is this the same OS as .674/.419 ?
after wiping the os how do i reload the os??
is there any other way of installing this OS? Because i've tried and it still doesnt install even after i delete the vender.xml file
I have BB 9500 then can i use 9550 or 9530 firmware?
i see they specification is not more different....
It's rather easy. There is a complete set of instructions for wiping and reinstalling the OS using BBSAK on Crackberry.
I'm sure someone has asked this and or answered this question. But is there a difference from this version and .647
I downloaded the OS 188.8.131.528/184.108.40.2069 as per your instructions but I didnot see the "vendor.xml" file. Any suggestions also I currently have .328 on my storm on the verizon network
I upgraded to this version just yesterday from the slightly older official release from Bell. Everything seems to be working well but I am having a slight issue with the BB Facebook application. In particular, the alerts I receive and try to access withing the app are like the ones from older versions of the app (ie I get a link that would take me to the website in order to respond instead of allowing me to do so within the app). Is anyone else having this issue?
However, something very weird happened just a few minutes ago. Despite me having no issues with my phone since upgrading a couple of days ago, it went a little bonkers on me. To be more precise, certain buttons would not work properly. One of convenience buttons is set to open the Media folder but all it does is open it briefly before going back to the main screen. Holding down the BB button shows the Switch Application but only briefly as well. After three battery pulls, now it seems some buttons are switched. Now the left convenience button acts like the Off button and nothing happens when I press the BB button.
It also lags at times and becomes unresponsive at others. Furthermore the phone resets every few minutes if I don't use it.
I am not sure if this is related to the upgrade but just to be safe I am going back to the previous official release in hopes this solves the issue. Anyone else suffer similar issues or even heard of something like this before?
Thanx for latest OS for 9530, I have wiped my phone with this version, I question I have:-
Memory Device is showing
Total Space - 879.2 MB
Free Space - 878.6 MB
Phone promts me to removed unwanted/unused applications-data in order to free space.
Any Idea as whats the resolution to this?
