I Fixed the 9550 Earpiece Speaker Problem For those of you (like me) who have a 9550 that isn't under warranty, and the earpiece speaker is going in the handset, I have figured out how to replace it! I looked far and wide and nobody was offering a replacement oem earpiece for the 9520/9550. When I disassembled the Storm 2 to try to clean the speaker (that didn't work), I noticed it looked very similar to a Curve earpiece speaker. The only difference is the Curve speaker is not as tall however the speaker leads lined up and it fit horizontally. Well I put the Curve speaker in, fill the empty space with a piece of rubber gasket (first I used paper), and it works! 8-) |
darn 9550 earpiece I am having the exact same problem and with not being under warranty, I want to replace my speaker to. How do I get the earpiece speaker out of my phone. I removed that top panel piece where the lock button is on my 9550, however it looks like the speaker comes out the back?? Advice? |
