Question 9550 Duplicate reoccuring calendar entries

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 9550 storm that synchronizes with a BES server (Ver4.1.6.13) connecting to an Exchange 2003 server.

Constantly I am having to use the RSET command to resync my calendar because of duplicate entries appearing for recurring appointments. I have also tried wiping the device completely to resync with the BES

Other users within the organization have the 8310 curve and do not appear to suffer this problem.

If anyone knows the solution to stop this happening please let me know, it is driving me crazy!

I have a customer with a 8530 that has the same exact issues, ongoing now for a couple of months now. Everytime she modifies a reoccuring appointment, it will either duplicate the appointment, or not reflect the changes. Actually, her admin will proxy into her calendar, and that is where the issue is introduced.

The fix that RIM suggests is not very attractive. It involves disabling content protection and deleting and recreating the recurring appointments. This is miserable for users that are sent appt. by others and have content protection enabled by policy. They also indicate that a fix has been bundled with an os update with Verizon. Not sure if/when that will be available. We have over 800 bes users and this has happened to 5 people, all with new 9550 devices from Verizon with the 5.0.0.607 os version

I'm experiencing the same issue with my Tour (9630) and Verizon OS 5.0.0.591. It don't seem to have had this issue with the previous version of the Verizon OS, and may roll back to it to see what happens.

I had the same issue with all the Blackberries that I upgraded from OS 4.7 to OS 5.0 on the BES v 5.X w/ Exchange 2003... None of my old 4.7 devices have this issue.

Here is what I found KB00851 on blackberry.com. Seems to make sense...

(had to add some spaces to the url since I have not posted 10 or more times on this forum)

I also recommended to my users to turn off Cache'd Exchange Mode
