Default PC not recognizing blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys, I've only had my bb for about a month now, and just upgraded the software to v5.0.0.607. Now my pc won't even recognize my bb. Before the upgrade, my pc always recongnized it. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks.

Perhaps trying the SEARCH feature would help?

What error message are you getting?

What troubleshooting steps have you taken? Tried a battery pull?

What OS on the PC?

What version of DM?

I did search, but only came across one post that was resolved quickly before any users could provide any input.

I'm not recieving any error messages, but my pc (which is using VISTA), is reading my bb as a "mass storage" device and nothing more.

I've tried a battery pull, swapping out the transfer cable, tried differant USB ports on my pc, and updated my "device driver" on my pc also. Like I stated in my original post, everything worked fine BEFORE the software upgrade. Now I'm kinda stuck.

ANY input would help. I'll try searching again in the mean while. And thank you for your responce.

Did you try reverting to the original OS?

Wipe and install the original OS that came with the device.

Going to the "Blackberry FAQ" link at the top of this BBF (and every) page, I found this: BlackBerry Operating System Downloads - BlackBerryFAQ
Go take a look for your OS needs.

If you need a HOW TO... also found this in the FAQ list:
How do I downgrade the OS on my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ
